Crystal Cascades is definitely one of Cairns’ favorite swimming holes – crystal clear water cascading through the valley of a world heritage rainforest, its a ‘must see’.

Out at Crystal Cascades there are amenities and free BBQs available, which makes it perfect for a family picnic day, additionally for the thrill seeker there are several ‘cliff jumps’ into the creek (which are formally off limits, and actually quite dangerous).

There is no camping allowed at the cascades themselves, fortunately there is the picturesque and highly recommended Crystal Cascades Holiday Park, a couple of kilometers down the road. The cascades continue to run right next to this park which also make for great swimming, bush walking and wildlife spotting.
